Director of B2B Partnerships

Now that the business model is established and we have a 6-year track record of successfully delivering investment returns, at scale, and with attractive unit economics, we are building a B2B business unit to enable us to deliver rapid growth, globally.
Our B2B strategy centres on partnering with local banks/FS players to power their digital wealth management offerings, white-labelled or co-branded. Nutmeg has already secured two large scale international partners who will use Nutmeg’s technology and investment expertise to power their digital wealth management offerings, launching in early 2019, which can serve as a proof point for others.
We are now looking for a senior and experienced financial services executive to lead the further expansion of Nutmeg’s B2B strategy in the UK and worldwide. The Director of B2B Partnerships is responsible of both identifying and securing large scale partnerships which deliver both AUM and customer growth. The role holder will also be responsible for identifying and exploring possible M&A opportunities to grow the business inorganically.
This is a contract role initially with the opportunity to transition to permanent depending on success in role.
As the Director of B2B Partnerships, you will be responsible for developing UK and global partnerships that are significant in revenue and AUM, scalable in terms of their long-term potential, and strategic in the sense that they support the growth of digital wealth management worldwide.
Nutmeg has the product offering, investment expertise and ability to customise the offering to partners depending on their unique requirements. You will have both the contacts within the global FS industry to both open doors and the experience in winning and negotiating large, complex deals. Specifically, you will be required to identify, prioritise and secure B2B partnerships for Nutmeg with an aim of delivering at 3-5 integrations within 2019 and a large pipeline for 2020 and beyond.
You will report to the CCO and depending on the candidate, may also have a dotted line to the CEO, and you will have the support of the entire executive team and commercial proposition team as required. You will attend executive meetings and some board meetings, for agenda items relating to the B2B strategy.
This role requires a Financial Services veteran with experience in large-scale organisations and developing B2B partnerships. M&A experience is an additional highly desirable skill.
You should have ideally have some demonstrable experience of the following:
- Leading a fast-growing partnerships department within a fintech
- Product management in leading Financial Services organisation
- Built and nurtured their own personal network of FS professionals through a successful career in financial services
- Developed expertise in developing winning RFPs or managing the RFP process within a large FS company
- Worked and won deals independently from a large business development team. We are a small team who has a bias for action and looks for others who operate similarly
- Expert negotiations skills which leaves your partner feeling as good about the deal as you did
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in, at pace.
